Readmission Application
  • Readmission Application

  • We are pleased to learn about your interest in returning to the University at Albany to complete your degree program.

Readmission is for undergraduate matriculated students only.
Graduate students should contact the The Graduate School.
Non degree students should apply through the General Studies Office.

Please make sure you are completing the application for the semester in which you would like to attend. The application you are about to complete is specific to the semester of anticipated readmission. Should you be unable to attend, you will be required to submit a new readmission application and fee.

Please note that submitting multiple readmission applications will not accelerate the review process and will only generate duplicate submissions that can delay the review of your application.

For more information visit the UGE Readmission Page.

Formerly matriculated undergraduates who have not yet completed a Baccalaureate Degree may only return to the University as matriculated undergraduates. Any requests for exception to this policy will be considered by the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education to determine if you meet the academic requirements/standards to enroll.

  • Do you have a bachelor's degree from ANY institution?*
  • If you completed an undergraduate degree from another school, you should not complete this application. Students who completed a bachelor’s degree must apply for admission to a new major or register as a non-degree student until you are admitted to a new major program.

If you would like to complete a second undergraduate degree, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

  • When you finish this form, please also complete the degree in absentia application.

  • Have you been suspended from the University at Albany for disciplinary reasons?*
  • Students who are suspended and wish to return to the University at Albany must first meet with Community Standards, prior to applying for readmission, to assess their readiness for readmission. Students who are Disciplinarily Suspended with conditions and who wish to return to the University at Albany must meet with Community Standards to also verify the successful completion of the conditions.

Please note that readmission applications with a petition require a $40 non-refundable fee.

Readmission is not gaurenteed as the Committee on Academic Standing will review petitions and make a decision. Petitions are only reviewed during the fall and spring semesters so we encourage you to submit you petition and supporting documentation as soon as possible.

Students will receive a decision via email. These cases take longer to process so if you would like to check on the status of your application, you can email academicstanding@albany.edu.
