2027 Collins Citizen of the University
Purpose:
The Collins Citizen of the University Award began in 1972 to recognize outstanding contributions to the University by a non-alum. In 2019, the award was named in honor of Dr. Evan Collins, the founding president of the State University of New York.
Criteria:
1.Nominee must be a non-alumnus/a.
2.Nominee must exhibit outstanding contributions to the University through leadership, service or aspecial gift. The contributions also may be of a less direct nature, such as broad educationalleadership or work that has had an impact on the campus.
3.Nominee may not be a current member of the UAlbany Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Your Nomination:
In your nomination, please address the items listed below. Any additional information or documentation you would like to send to support your nomination is welcome, e.g., articles, biographical sketches, resumes, etc.

2.Educational background.
3.Contributions to the University community. You may include information on pertinent professionaland volunteer positions held, committees, projects and activities. Information on special gifts mayalso be included as well as honors and awards received. Please describe how the nominee’s effortshave had an impact on the University community.
4.Description of the nominee’s character and commitment as it relates to this award.

6.Nominators are strongly encouraged to seek other individuals to write letters in support of theirnomination. A minimum of two letters of support is recommended. Your nomination letter should beno longer than two pages, single spaced.
