2027 Irvis Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Purpose:
The Irvis Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes early outstanding achievements in a chosen profession or field of service and/or service to the community. Nominee must be age 35 or younger by nomination deadline. In 2020, the award was named in honor of Kirkland Leroy Irvis '38, the University's third African-American male graduate. A civil rights activist at a young age, Irvis earned a law degree and was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Criteria:
1.Nominee must be age 35 or younger by the nomination deadline.
2.Nominee must exhibit outstanding early achievement and/or service to the community.
3.Nominee may not be a current member of the UAlbany Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Your Nomination:
In your nomination, please address the items listed below. Any additional information or documentation you would like to send to support your nomination is welcome, e.g., articles, biographical sketches, resumes, etc.

3.Current and past positions in the field of business. Include job title, locale, responsibilities,activities/projects, and other related accomplishments and contributions. You may also includerecognition or honors received and professional affiliations. Please include dates where possible.
4.Description of the nominee’s character and commitment as it relates to this award.

6.Nominators are strongly encouraged to seek other individuals to write letters in support of theirnomination. A minimum of two letters of support is recommended. Your nomination letter should be no longer than two pages, single spaced.
