    • Step 1: Tell us about yourself
    • Your location during field practicum is important to the field selection process!

The Field Office cannot select a field practicum for you until we know where you will be living. As soon as possible, please email the Field Office at SSWFieldOffice@albany.edu with the address at which you will be living during completion of the field practicum.

    • Please list your most recent human services position. If not applicable, list your most recent work, internship or volunteer experience.

    • Step 2: Field Practicum Information
    • Please note that your field practicum options may be limited if you do not have a current driver's license and/or vehicle.

    • Please check all counties in each geographic area where you would prefer to be placed. Choose "None of the above" at the bottom of each area where you would rather not be placed.

    • Please note: School of Social Welfare policy states that you may be placed in an agency that is located within a 100-mile radius of Albany or your home community, and we are unable to reimburse the cost of gas/tolls. However, every effort will be made to accommodate preferences when possible.

Request for Disability Accommodations in Field

To request accommodations in field due to a disability, you must make a formal request by contacting Disability Access and Inclusion Student Services (DAISS).

The Field Office will only consider a request for accommodation in field due to a disability after receiving an official letter from DAISS.

Upon receipt of such letter, the Field Office will evaluate whether or not the requested accommodations can be facilitated while maintaining the essential requirements of the field practicum course. The student, field agency and/or DAISS staff may be involved in this decision-making process.

The Field Office will provide formal notification of its final decision regarding the request for accommodations in field.
