New York State Education Department (NYSED) requires bachelor’s degrees to have a certain number of LAS credits, and they give examples of what course contents are considered LAS. It is our responsibility as a university to ensure that the courses within our portfolio designated LAS match the NYSED’s definition.

Please also note that internships, field experience, and community service are not considered LAS courses.
If your department believes that a course was wrongly designated LAS or not LAS, please complete this form and submit a complete and current course syllabus for the course.
